Why Blog?

I honestly have no idea why I would begin this project and start a blog. I turn 50 next month and I guess if this is my only mid-life crisis then we're probably in good shape (and yes, I'll consider 50 as mid-life).

I suppose that over the past 50 years, I've learned a lot, made a lot of mistakes and hope to share some thoughts and insights that will be encouraging and thought provoking.

So where does the name Saturday's At the Library come from?

As in introvert living in an extrovert world, it's hard to find a place where I can recharge. Early in my college education, I was always that guy studying at and spending time at the library. No, I don't consider myself a nerd (although my children may differ!), its that I find a quiet library a place that I can quickly gather my thoughts. As a result, I'm known for spending many Saturday mornings at the Library. It started as a place to finalize my small group lessons for Sunday mornings but it has evolved to a place where I can work, study or just think.

I'm looking forward to putting some of those thoughts on "paper" and the posts will probably be as diverse as my music.

My wife continues to make fun of me and always enjoys sharing about the first time she opened my glove compartment in my Honda Accord in 1993 to find tapes and CD's ranging from Amy Grant, Boyz to Men and Milli Vanilli to U2, Phil Collins and Yanni. My playlist are still as equally diverse.

As a result, you can expect this blog to follow that same pattern. I hope to share some thoughts on culture, business and the christian life. I also hope to find ways to pull in other important people either by interview or blog posting themselves.

I hope you'll find it entertaining and thought provoking. I welcome your feedback, questions or thoughts on potential topics.
